Aslam Bulbulia is a new settler on xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ / sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) land from Johannesburg South Africa, with Indian heritage. He has a background in Political Science and Philosophy, and during his postgraduate studies, he explored city-planning, Islamic law and spirituality, user-centred design and decoloniality. Since arriving in Vancouver he has completed a certificate in dialogue and civic engagement, led community engagement initiatives for the SFU Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies and managed the RADIUS Fellowship. Aslam regularly facilitates with InnerActivist and LightWork. He teaches Deep Democracy through the Waterline co-op, and is working to decolonize engagement through his own venture, Shura Engagement and Consulting.
