Kwe’ (Hello), my name is Madeleine Bégin I am Mi’kmaw on my mother’s side and French Canadian on my father’s. I am a second-generation 60’s scoop survivor who was born and raised on the traditional unceded territories of the lək̓ ʷəŋən and WSÁNEĆ Peoples. I am a certified Indigenous Family Support worker and Early Childhood Educational Assistant. I am currently employed as an Educator at a daycare, and an Indigenous Infant Development consultant for the Victoria Native Friendship Centre. I am also doing part-time studies in Early Childhood Education. I participate on a board for VIDEA, which is an International Development Non-Profit that works with Indigenous and other marginalized people. In my spare time, I co-host a podcast called Spilling Labrador Tea Under Cedar Trees that covers various different topics surrounding Indigenous issues. I am very excited to learn and participate in the LEVEL Youth Policy Program.
