WY (they/she) has an unquenchable curiosity about people who have journeyed oceans and mountains away from their origins and the stories they have brought with them. Being part of the East-Asian Diaspora on stolen Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh homelands, WY has always found herself navigating spaces of beauty, discomfort and yearning. Her passion lies in all aspects of food – be it growing her own vegetables, attempting new recipes or ensuring her community has access to fresh and culturally familiar produce. WY believes in the power of sharing resources and building on existing community assets to support folks in reaching their fullest potential.
She is a graduate of the Global Resource Systems program at UBC. Among her many hats, Emily is a freelance filmmaker, photographer, podcast producer and community builder. In her spare time, she can be found hanging off walls, fermenting vegetables or biking to the nearest soup dumpling spot.
