Nathalie Lozano-Neira came to Musqueam land, Coast Salish territories (Vancouver) as a refugee from Muisca territory (Colombia) 17 years ago. She has been engaged in migrant community work for the past 14 years as a facilitator, youth worker, and community member. Nathalie completed her MA in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at Simon Fraser University where she focused on the well-being of racialized community workers and settler-Indigenous relationships. She strongly believes in the power of creating meaningful ally-ships with Indigenous peoples as a base in order to advance any social justice cause. In her spare time she enjoys dancing salsa, playing soccer, and eating.
